Game of Thrones-Yo Ned whats your damn problem?

Hello folks whats going on with you guys? Time for a return to the the 7 kingdoms with my series on Game of Thrones with the expose on "wtf is wrong with Ned and why wont he Shut the fucketh up". First off when the show starts off His first act is of killing a ranger who fled the wall due to a unnatural threat and all things considered he seemed pretty fair and never did anything without really thinking it through. This seemed to continue when the king begged him to become the hand of the king(see last review). I was a huge fan of his fair view of life and how he handled the phoniness of life in the royal court was nice....at first.

It seems like recently though he has been acting as if he has no idea how shit works despite everyone telling him "hey Ned this is how shit works chill with that bullshit". I am paraphrasing obviously but his inability to stop trusting everyone with frank and forthright opinions despite being told "hey I am not to be trusted" he proceeds to trust this guy like a ass. In the last 3 weeks Ned has openly blundered about asking questions that got the universally loved former hand killed. He also found out a whole lot of shit regarding incest and instead of saving it or telling everyone at once he instead does the dumb thing. He as of my writing this has spilled the beans and allowed the person a chance to escape which has from how the last episode ended seems to be a fatal mistake. I want to say I love this show and for all of Ned,s shortcomings I still love his forthrightness and honor. Lets hope that Ned survives this and learn the eternal lesson of "Shutting the hell up and minding your damn business."

Album review(Happy Hour by Nerd Ferguson)

Hey folks Lets jump into the second LP from young Mr Nerd Ferguson called Happy hour. Right off the bat I want to say overall this albums production value was fantastic which was a welcome surprise. Alot of self put out albums sound like they were recorded on a handheld tape deck with poorly constructed beats so this offering was amazing in that regards. As far as the bars they held up as well. The reoccurring theme was coming into his own as a rapper and the understanding of his place in hip hop world. Some stand out tracks to me was "Hyundai Elantra music" between the beat and the everyman flow will be in rotation for most of this summer. "girl song" which addressed the very real situation of crushing on someone on your daily commute on the subway but not voicing your desire. "supercrazyUltra" uses a Chubb Rock sample that works super well with the rapid fire bars to give that throw back party feel. I also think The Kings of Leon sample on "It,s Hot" was fantastic as I hate Kings of leon yet was feeling the songs use of the riff. The only criticism is that some of the songs seem all over the place in regards to message but that is a small issue on a superb offering.

Thoughts on Portlandia

Hey folks this is not a review in the sense of me saying this is bad or good and so forth. This is just me after watching season 1 and having thoughts and feeling like sharing them. This show is so weird as it is not funny really as much as it is humorous as all hell. I say this as a huge fan and I think there is something to getting the joke and enjoying the point of view and not having a actual laugh there. The show seems to be taking aim at hipster and scenster culture with Portland Oregon as the backdrop. You can tell early on that while the culture is being mined for humor the shows stars live in that world and show a human side to the world of the scenster. The other thing I notice is the chemistry between the leads(Fred armisen,Carrie brownstein) which is so amazing that it makes most of the sketches work. Most people are aware of Fred Armisen who is a regular on SNL as a comedic powerhouse but Carrie was a huge surprise. Brownstein who was the guitarist for sleater-kinney who without knowing would assume she has been doing sketch for ever. They are always on the same beat which leads to some really great moments on the show such as "put a bird on it". Most sketches are stand alone with a one common theme flowing throughout. I love this show but its unabashedly unique view is a hard sell for people who expect a specific punchline is a hrad sell for america
