My review of the BBC show "Luther" episode 1

First I would like to apologize as I been updating my blogs twice a week and this week due to travel i was unable to so for that I am sorry. OK with that out the way time to get into the review of episode 1 of "Luther"

I want to start this by saying I am not the biggest fan of Idris Elba the star of this show. I feel his American stuff is heavy handed and poorly acted. With that said and having seen this show I believe that he can act when he is allowed to speak in his accent and when written for. Obviously this is the first show of a series and Theres alot that can go wrong but from what I saw that will be hard to do. This show is awesome and without spoiling it Luther is obsessed and at home in the process of solving murders or the solution more like it. When he is "ON" he is laser focused on the task but with that focus the rest of his life is left to fall to waste. The interactions he has with everyone from his estranged wife who is trying to move on from the man she loves but knows she will never be able to compete with his obsession. Also he interactions with the killer(yes your aware of who did this pretty early as its less about who and more about catching the person. This interaction he has with this person is fantastic as he seems more comfortable sparring with this sociopathic genius who loves creating scenarios as much as Luther loves solving them. I enjoy the fact that he so wants to have a normal life with his wife yet it is obvious to anyone with eyes that he can,t relate with people in a way where that will be possible. I am hoping to see where this show goes to see the progression of the cat and mouse game and juxtaposition of who is cat and who is mouse. I hope you love this show as much as I have at least give it a shot and let me know what you think via comments or email.
