Yeah i can see that you are showing me wacky clips and behind the scenes scoops but I still have no desire to see what you have made. Why do I take such a Harsh stance to such a mundane thing? The reason is I don,t like the heavy hand especially when it comes to my entertainment. I will use two movies which came out recently with two very diffrent results
Poor poor mcgruber the movie that was marketed to be a word of mouth monster but forgot to secure said mouth to pass ont he words. It was not due to lack of trying though tons of random commericals with a voiceover that alluded to naughtiness unseen. I guess they thought if they made a comedy raunchy and made a handshake deal with america if they paid to see it they would get to see said naughtiness. Well it failed and failed hard which is based mostly to the core audience of mcgruber owning computers and a working knowledge of bit torrent. To my point I dislike having my spare time strong armed by a marketing exec who thinks all I need as a nerd is the promise of profanity. in the immortal words of willy wonka "you lose good days sir.........I said good day"
And for ever Mcgruber that attempts to force me to be in on the next big thing there is a Iron man 2 which is a legit big thing without one word being said. The marketing of a movie like this is extreme it includes tie ins and wacky behind the scenes clips and articles that give a controversial tidbit about the star. This is not counting the millions of commercials both cryptic and spoilerish. This bothers me slightly less then the slight of hand marketing that movies like mcgruber employ as I can understand hedging a 500 million dollar bet with agressive marketing.
